| 1 The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth. | 1 The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. | 1 From the church leader. | 6 and they have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. | 6 Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: | 6 These believers have told the congregation about your love. You will do well to support them on their trip in a way that proves you belong to God. | 6 They have testified about your love before the assembly. He's not satisfied with saying malicious things about us. He also refuses to accept the believers [we send] as guests. He even tries to stop others who want to accept them and attempts to throw those people out of the congregation. | 10 Therefore, if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words. | 11 Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God. | 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. | 11 Dear friend, never imitate evil, but imitate good. The person who does good is from God.
