Jesus Appears at the Sea of Galilee
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 After these things Jesus manifested Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and He manifested Himself in this way.1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.1 Later, by the Sea of Tiberias, Jesus showed himself again to the disciples. This is what happened.1 After these things, Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself this way.1 After these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. And he manifested himself thus.
2 Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, Zebedee's sons, and two other disciples of Jesus were together.2 Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael who was of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.
3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will also come with you." They went out and got into the boat; and that night they caught nothing.3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.3 Simon Peter said to the others, "I'm going fishing." They told him, "We're going with you." They went out in a boat but didn't catch a thing that night.3 Simon Peter said to them, "I'm going fishing." They told him, "We are also coming with you." They immediately went out, and entered into the boat. That night, they caught nothing.3 Simon Peter says to them, I go to fish. They say to him, We also come with thee. They went forth, and went on board, and that night took nothing.
4 But when the day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.4 As the sun was rising, Jesus stood on the shore. The disciples didn't realize that it was Jesus.4 But when day had already come, Jesus stood on the beach, yet the disciples didn't know that it was Jesus.4 And early morn already breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; the disciples however did not know that it was Jesus.
5 So Jesus said to them, "Children, you do not have any fish, do you?" They answered Him, "No."5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.5 Jesus asked them, "Friends, haven't you caught any fish?" They answered him, "No, we haven't."5 Jesus therefore said to them, "Children, have you anything to eat?" They answered him, "No."5 Jesus therefore says to them, Children, have ye anything to eat? They answered him, No.

6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch." So they cast, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish.6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.6 He told them, "Throw the net out on the right side of the boat, and you'll catch some." So they threw the net out and were unable to pull it in because so many fish were in it.6 He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." They cast it therefore, and now they weren't able to draw it in for the multitude of fish.6 And he said to them, Cast the net at the right side of the ship and ye will find. They cast therefore, and they could no longer draw it, from the multitude of fishes.
7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord." So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he was stripped for work), and threw himself into the sea.7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.7 The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It's the Lord." When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put back on the clothes that he had taken off and jumped into the sea.7 That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It's the Lord!" So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his coat around him (for he was naked), and threw himself into the sea.7 That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved says to Peter, It is the Lord. Simon Peter therefore, having heard that it was the Lord, girded his overcoat on him (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea;
8 But the other disciples came in the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but about one hundred yards away, dragging the net full of fish.8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.8 The other disciples came with the boat and dragged the net full of fish. They weren't far from the shore, only about 100 yards.8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits away), dragging the net full of fish.8 and the other disciples came in the small boat, for they were not far from the land, but somewhere about two hundred cubits, dragging the net of fishes.
9 So when they got out on the land, they saw a charcoal fire already laid and fish placed on it, and bread.9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.9 When they went ashore, they saw a fire with a fish lying on the coals, and they saw a loaf of bread.9 So when they got out on the land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.9 When therefore they went out on the land, they see a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.
10 Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have now caught."10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.10 Jesus told them, "Bring some of the fish you've just caught."10 Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have just caught."10 Jesus says to them, Bring of the fishes which ye have now taken.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 Simon Peter went up and drew the net to land, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not torn.11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.11 Simon Peter got into the boat and pulled the net ashore. Though the net was filled with 153 large fish, it was not torn.11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of great fish, one hundred fifty-three; and even though there were so many, the net wasn't torn.11 Simon Peter went up and drew the net to the land full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty-three; and though there were so many, the net was not rent.
Jesus Provides
12 Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples ventured to question Him, "Who are You?" knowing that it was the Lord.12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.12 Jesus told them, "Come, have breakfast." None of the disciples dared to ask him who he was. They knew he was the Lord.12 Jesus said to them, "Come and eat breakfast." None of the disciples dared inquire of him, "Who are you?" knowing that it was the Lord.12 Jesus says to them, Come and dine. But none of the disciples dared inquire of him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise.13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.13 Jesus took the bread, gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.13 Then Jesus came and took the bread, gave it to them, and the fish likewise.13 Jesus comes and takes the bread and gives it to them, and the fish in like manner.
14 This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after He was raised from the dead.14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.14 This was the third time that Jesus showed himself to the disciples after he had come back to life.14 This is now the third time that Jesus was revealed to his disciples, after he had risen from the dead.14 This is already the third time that Jesus had been manifested to the disciples, being risen from among the dead.
The Love Motivation
15 So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My lambs."15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.15 After they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than the other disciples do?" Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus told him, "Feed my lambs."15 So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."15 When therefore they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Feed my lambs.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Shepherd My sheep."16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.16 Jesus asked him again, a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus told him, "Take care of my sheep."16 He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep."16 He says to him again a second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Shepherd my sheep.
17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Tend My sheep.17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.17 Jesus asked him a third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter felt sad because Jesus had asked him a third time, "Do you love me?" So Peter said to him, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you." Jesus told him, "Feed my sheep.17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you have affection for me?" Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time, "Do you have affection for me?" He said to him, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I have affection for you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep.17 He says to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, art thou attached to me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Art thou attached to me? and said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. Jesus says to him, Feed my sheep.
Our Times Are in His Hand
18 "Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go."18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdest thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.18 I can guarantee this truth: When you were young, you would get ready to go where you wanted. But when you're old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will get you ready to take you where you don't want to go."18 Most certainly I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself, and walked where you wanted to. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you, and carry you where you don't want to go."18 Verily, verily, I say to thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst where thou desiredst; but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and bring thee where thou dost not desire.
19 Now this He said, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me!"19 This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.19 Jesus said this to show by what kind of death Peter would bring glory to God. After saying this, Jesus told Peter, "Follow me!"19 Now he said this, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. When he had said this, he said to him, "Follow me."19 But he said this signifying by what death he should glorify God. And having said this, he says to him, Follow me.
20 Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had leaned back on His bosom at the supper and said, "Lord, who is the one who betrays You?"20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?20 Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved. That disciple was following them. He was the one who leaned against Jesus' chest at the supper and asked, "Lord, who is going to betray you?"20 Then Peter, turning around, saw a disciple following. This was the disciple whom Jesus sincerely loved, the one who had also leaned on Jesus' breast at the supper and asked, "Lord, who is going to betray You?"20 Peter, turning round, sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned at supper on his breast, and said, Lord, who is it that delivers thee up?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
21 So Peter seeing him said to Jesus, "Lord, and what about this man?"21 Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?21 When Peter saw him, he asked Jesus, "Lord, what about him?"21 Peter seeing him, said to Jesus, "Lord, what about this man?"21 Peter, seeing him, says to Jesus, Lord, and what of this man?
22 Jesus said to him, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!"22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.22 Jesus said to Peter, "If I want him to live until I come again, how does that concern you? Follow me!"22 Jesus said to him, "If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you? You follow me."22 Jesus says to him, If I will that he abide until I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me.
23 Therefore this saying went out among the brethren that that disciple would not die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?"23 Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?23 So a rumor that that disciple wouldn't die spread among Jesus' followers. But Jesus didn't say that he wouldn't die. What Jesus said was, "If I want him to live until I come again, how does that concern you?"23 This saying therefore went out among the brothers, that this disciple wouldn't die. Yet Jesus didn't say to him that he wouldn't die, but, "If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you?"23 This word therefore went out among the brethren, That disciple does not die. And Jesus did not say to him, He does not die; but, If I will that he abide until I come, what is that to thee?
24 This is the disciple who is testifying to these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.24 This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.24 This disciple was an eyewitness of these things and wrote them down. We know that what he says is true.24 This is the disciple who testifies about these things, and wrote these things. We know that his witness is true.24 This is the disciple who bears witness concerning these things, and who has written these things; and we know that his witness is true.
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.25 Jesus also did many other things. If every one of them were written down, I suppose the world wouldn't have enough room for the books that would be written.25 There are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they would all be written, I suppose that even the world itself wouldn't have room for the books that would be written.25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which if they were written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself would contain the books written.
