NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him.1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:1 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up a mountain and sat down. His disciples came to him,1 Seeing the multitudes, he went up onto the mountain. When he had sat down, his disciples came to him.1 But seeing the crowds, he went up into the mountain, and having sat down, his disciples came to him;
 He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,2 and he began to teach them:2 He opened his mouth and taught them, saying,2 and, having opened his mouth, he taught them, saying,
 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.3 "Blessed are those who recognize they are spiritually helpless. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.4 Blessed are those who mourn. They will be comforted.4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.4 Blessed they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
 "Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.5 Blessed are those who are gentle. They will inherit the earth.5 Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.5 Blessed the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for God's approval. They will be satisfied.6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.6 Blessed they who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
 "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.7 Blessed are those who show mercy. They will be treated mercifully.7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.7 Blessed the merciful, for they shall find mercy.
 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.8 Blessed are those whose thoughts are pure. They will see God.8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.8 Blessed the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.9 Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called God's children.9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.9 Blessed the peace-makers, for they shall be called sons of God.
 "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for doing what God approves of. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.10 Blessed they who are persecuted on account of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, lie, and say all kinds of evil things about you because of me.11 "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.11 Blessed are ye when they may reproach and persecute you, and say every wicked thing against you, lying, for my sake.
 "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.12 Rejoice and be glad because you have a great reward in heaven! The prophets who lived before you were persecuted in these ways.12 Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.12 Rejoice and exult, for your reward is great in the heavens; for thus have they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Disciples and the World
 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.13 "You are salt for the earth. But if salt loses its taste, how will it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people.13 "You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.13 Ye are the salt of the earth; but if the salt have become insipid, wherewith shall it be salted? It is no longer fit for anything but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot by men.
 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.14 "You are light for the world. A city cannot be hidden when it is located on a hill.14 You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden.14 Ye are the light of the world: a city situated on the top of a mountain cannot be hid.
 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket. Instead, everyone who lights a lamp puts it on a lamp stand. Then its light shines on everyone in the house.15 Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house.15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the bushel, but upon the lamp-stand, and it shines for all who are in the house.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.16 In the same way let your light shine in front of people. Then they will see the good that you do and praise your Father in heaven.16 Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.16 Let your light thus shine before men, so that they may see your upright works, and glorify your Father who is in the heavens.
 "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.17 "Don't ever think that I came to set aside Moses' Teachings or the Prophets. I didn't come to set them aside but to make them come true.17 "Don't think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn't come to destroy, but to fulfill.17 Think not that I am come to make void the law or the prophets; I am not come to make void, but to fulfil.
 "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.18 I can guarantee this truth: Until the earth and the heavens disappear, neither a period nor a comma will disappear from Moses' Teachings before everything has come true.18 For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.18 For verily I say unto you, Until the heaven and the earth pass away, one iota or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all come to pass.
 "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.19 So whoever sets aside any command that seems unimportant and teaches others to do the same will be unimportant in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does and teaches what the commands say will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.19 Whoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.19 Whosoever then shall do away with one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whosoever shall practise and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.
 "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.20 I can guarantee that unless you live a life that has God's approval and do it more faithfully than the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, there is no way you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.20 For I say unto you, that unless your righteousness surpass that of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

 "You have heard that the ancients were told, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER ' and 'Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.'21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:21 "You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, 'Never murder. Whoever murders will answer for it in court.'21 "You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, 'You shall not murder;' and 'Whoever shall murder shall be in danger of the judgment.'21 Ye have heard that it was said to the ancients, Thou shalt not kill; but whosoever shall kill shall be subject to the judgment.
 "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, 'You good-for-nothing,' shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, 'You fool,' shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.22 But I can guarantee that whoever is angry with another believer will answer for it in court. Whoever calls another believer an insulting name will answer for it in the highest court. Whoever calls another believer a fool will answer for it in hellfire. 22 But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whoever shall say to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council; and whoever shall say, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of the fire of Gehenna.22 But I say unto you, that every one that is lightly angry with his brother shall be subject to the judgment; but whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be subject to be called before the sanhedrim; but whosoever shall say, Fool, shall be subject to the penalty of the hell of fire.
 "Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;23 "So if you are offering your gift at the altar and remember there that another believer has something against you,23 "If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,23 If therefore thou shouldest offer thy gift at the altar, and there shouldest remember that thy brother has something against thee,
 leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.24 leave your gift at the altar. First go away and make peace with that person. Then come back and offer your gift.24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.24 leave there thy gift before the altar, and first go, be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
 "Make friends quickly with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way, so that your opponent may not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.25 "Make peace quickly with your opponent while you are on the way to court with him. Otherwise, he will hand you over to the judge. Then the judge will hand you over to an officer, who will throw you into prison.25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are with him in the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.25 Make friends with thine adverse party quickly, whilst thou art in the way with him; lest some time the adverse party deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

 "Truly I say to you, you will not come out of there until you have paid up the last cent.26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.26 I can guarantee this truth: You will never get out until you pay every penny of your fine.26 Most certainly I tell you, you shall by no means get out of there, until you have paid the last penny.26 Verily I say to thee, Thou shalt in no wise come out thence till thou hast paid the last farthing.
 "You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY';27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:27 "You have heard that it was said, 'Never commit adultery.'27 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery;'27 Ye have heard that it has been said, Thou shalt not commit adultery.
 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.28 But I can guarantee that whoever looks with lust at a woman has already committed adultery in his heart.28 but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.28 But I say unto you, that every one who looks upon a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
 "If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.29 "So if your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose a part of your body than to have all of it thrown into hell.29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.29 But if thy right eye be a snare to thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.
 "If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.30 And if your right hand leads you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose a part of your body than to have all of it go into hell.30 If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.30 And if thy right hand be a snare to thee, cut it off and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.

 "It was said, 'WHOEVER SENDS HIS WIFE AWAY, LET HIM GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE';31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:31 "It has also been said, 'Whoever divorces his wife must give her a written notice.'31 "It was also said, 'Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce,'31 It has been said too, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a letter of divorce.
 but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.32 But I can guarantee that any man who divorces his wife for any reason other than unfaithfulness makes her look as though she has committed adultery. Whoever marries a woman divorced in this way makes himself look as though he has committed adultery.32 but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.32 But I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except for cause of fornication, makes her commit adultery, and whosoever marries one that is put away commits adultery.
 "Again, you have heard that the ancients were told, 'YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FALSE VOWS, BUT SHALL FULFILL YOUR VOWS TO THE LORD.'33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:33 "You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, 'Never break your oath, but give to the Lord what you swore in an oath to give him.'33 "Again you have heard that it was said to them of old time, 'You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,'33 Again, ye have heard that it has been said to the ancients, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt render to the Lord what thou hast sworn.
 "But I say to you, make no oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God,34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:34 But I tell you don't swear an oath at all. Don't swear an oath by heaven, which is God's throne,34 but I tell you, don't swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;34 But I say unto you, Do not swear at all; neither by the heaven, because it is the throne of God;
 or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, or by Jerusalem, for it is THE CITY OF THE GREAT KING.35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.35 or by the earth, which is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, which is the city of the great King.35 nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.35 nor by the earth, because it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.

 "Nor shall you make an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black.36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.36 And don't swear an oath by your head. After all, you cannot make one hair black or white.36 Neither shall you swear by your head, for you can't make one hair white or black.36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
 "But let your statement be, 'Yes, yes ' or 'No, no'; anything beyond these is of evil.37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.37 Simply say yes or no. Anything more than that comes from the evil one.37 But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No.' Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.37 But let your word be Yea, yea; Nay, nay; but what is more than these is from evil.
 "You have heard that it was said, 'AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.'38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:38 "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.'38 "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.'38 Ye have heard that it has been said, Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.
 "But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.39 But I tell you not to oppose an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn your other cheek to him as well.39 But I tell you, don't resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.39 But I say unto you, not to resist evil; but whoever shall strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him also the other;
 "If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.40 If someone wants to sue you in order to take your shirt, let him have your coat too.40 If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.40 and to him that would go to law with thee and take thy body coat, leave him thy cloak also.

 "Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two.41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.41 If someone forces you to go one mile, go two miles with him.41 Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.41 And whoever will compel thee to go one mile, go with him two.
 "Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.42 Give to everyone who asks you for something. Don't turn anyone away who wants to borrow something from you.42 Give to him who asks you, and don't turn away him who desires to borrow from you.42 To him that asks of thee give, and from him that desires to borrow of thee turn not away.
 "You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.'43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.43 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.'43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.'43 Ye have heard that it has been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour and hate thine enemy.
 "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;44 But I tell you this: Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you.44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who insult you and persecute you,
 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.45 In this way you show that you are children of your Father in heaven. He makes his sun rise on people whether they are good or evil. He lets rain fall on them whether they are just or unjust.45 that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.45 that ye may be the sons of your Father who is in the heavens; for he makes his sun rise on evil and good, and sends rain on just and unjust.

 "For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?46 If you love those who love you, do you deserve a reward? Even the tax collectors do that!46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don't even the tax collectors do the same?46 For if ye should love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not also the tax-gatherers the same?
 "If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?47 Are you doing anything remarkable if you welcome only your friends? Everyone does that!47 If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don't even the tax collectors do the same?47 And if ye should salute your brethren only, what do ye extraordinary? Do not also the Gentiles the same?
 "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.48 That is why you must be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect. Don't Do Good Works to Be Praised by People48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.48 Be ye therefore perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.
